2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Launched In India at Rs 31.95 Lakh


Japanese Automaker Mitsubishi has launched the all-new 2018 Outlander SUV in the country. The Outlander is first all-new Mitsubishi model seen in India in six years but does bear in mind that this generation of the SUV has been on sale internationally in its facelift form since 2015 and is being shipped to India as a CBI unit (Completely Build Unit).


While the previous generation was inspired by the Lancer Evo X design language, the new generation Mitsubishi Outlander gets a more plush and premium look. The front grille is wider and more Chrome rich while retaining the sleek design language. The cabin too has completely revoked on the new generation Mitsubishi Outlander with the model getting a beige and black colour scheme and a seven-seat layout. It will be offered to be a seven-seater configuration and the second and third-row seats can fold flat to increase the luggage space.

The interior features a 6.1- inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and electric sunroof, paddle shifters for the CVT gearbox and leather seats,710 Watt Rockford Fosgate sound system, paddle shifters for CVT gearbox and leather seats.

Powering the new Mitsubishi is a 2.4-litre MIVEC petrol engine that is capable of belting out 165bhp and 222 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is offered with only 6- speed CVT with Multi Select 4WD system and comes with paddle-shifters. While the Outlander can do 0-100 kmph sprint in 11.1 seconds.

With respect to safety, it is loaded with all the goodies including seven airbags, hill start assist, ABS with EBD. It will come with a set of 16-inch alloy wheels which will get an ornamental design and will be standard.

It will be offered in seven colours:

  • Black pearl
  • Cosmic blue
  • Orient red
  • Cool silver
  • White solid
  • White pearl
  • Titanium grey

Other prominent features include LED lamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, heated ORVMs, LED tail like cluster and alloy wheels. These all are a standard as only one variant offers this. It will take the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
