Honda is prepping to launch the facelifted version of Amaze which is expected to launch on August 17, 2021. The compact sedan will get some styling tweaks on both the exteriors and interiors along with added features. The Amaze is one of the best-sellers of the company which is manufactured only in India and is exported to a few international markets as well.
As for the exteriors, there are not many changes but the facelift version is expected to get new LED headlamps, redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels along with new colour options. On the inside, the sedan gets new fabric upholstery, infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and more.
In terms of powertrain, the Amaze facelift will offer the same engine options of its current version – a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission producing 90bhp and 110Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre diesel engines mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox generating 100bhp and 200Nm of torque when paired with the former transmission and 80bhp against a peak torque of 160Nm when paired with the automatic transmission.
Currently, Honda offers models including the City, Amaze, Jazz and WR-V. The company is expected to introduce the City hybrid later this year for the Indian market but there are no confirmations yet. Honda is also planning to increase its portfolio with the launch of all-new mid-size SUV by 2023 which will be based on the City’s platform.
The Honda Amaze facelift will rival the likes of other compact sedans in its segment such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and Ford Aspire.
