Mahindra has officially announced that the company will be seeing “No production days” for a period of 7 (Seven) days in the month of September 2021. The automaker clarified that the reason behind the shutdown is the shortage of semiconductors in the automobile industry.
As per the company, there will be a reduction of the production by approximately 20 to 25 percent. In addition to this, the automaker also mentioned that the shut down of production will not hamper the launch of its upcoming SUV, the XUV700 in any manner and bookings of the same is expected to commence soon.
Furthermore, Mahindra also trademarked the name “Javelin” earlier this week. The name trademarked is most likely to be given to a special edition of its upcoming SUV, the XUV700 which will be gifted to the Olympians and Paralympians who won a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics this year.
