Maruti Suzuki recalls over 1.81 lakh cars – Here’s Why

MSIL (Maruti Suzuki India Limited) has recalled over 1.81 lakh units of its petrol variants of its models Ciaz, XL6, S-Cross, Ertiga and Vitara Brezza manufactured between May 4, 2018 to October 27, 2020.

The automaker mentioned that their might be a defect with the motor generator unit which will be inspected and if required the motor generator unit will be replaced without incurring an additional cost to the vehicle owners. The company added that the recalling of the vehicles will start from first week of November 2021. Till the time the vehicle owners are requested to avoid driving in water logged areas and spraying direct water on the electrical parts of the vehicle.

The vehicle owners of the said period will receive an official communication from the company’s authorized service centers. The customers can also visit the “Imp Customer Info” section on the brand’s Nexa and Arena official websites. The vehicle owners can log in with their vehicle’s chassis number to check whether their vehicle is affected post the recall or not.
