Volkswagen Taigun launched at INR 10.50 lakh

The German car manufacturer, Volkswagen has added a new SUV in its product line, the Volkswagen Taigun. The model is available in 2 (Two) versions – Dynamic Line and Performance Line. The Taigun Dynamic Line version offers 3 (Three) trims – COMFORTLINE | HIGHLINE | TOPLINE, whereas the Performance Line offers 2 (Two) trims – GT and GT Plus. In addition to this, the Volkswagen Taigun is available in 5 (Five) different colour options – Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey. As for the exteriors, the model features LED headlights with integrated DRLs, combination of black and grey elements on the lower half of the bumper, 17-inch Manila alloy wheels, C-shaped LED taillights and design elements on the grille. Based on the new MQB A0 IN platform, the company claims that the Taigun offers the largest wheelbase in its segment. In addition to this, the GT variants gets a GT badge on the grille.

Inside the cabin, the Taigun gets an uncluttered dashboard, ventilated leather seats on the front, an electric sunroof, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, ambient lighting, wireless charging, automatic climate control and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. In addition to this, the Taigun also gets My Volkswagen Connect App that helps the customers to monitor their usage, asses the driving behavior and live tracking, all in real time.


Under the hood, the Volkswagen Taigun offers 2 (two) petrol engine units – a 1.0-litre TSI unit mated either to a 6-speed manual (MT) gearbox or an 6-speed automatic (AT) transmission producing 114bhp and a peak troque of 178Nm and a 1.5-litre TSI EVO unit paired to a 6-speed manual (MT) transmission or a 7-speed DSG gearbox generating 148bhp against a peak torque of 250Nm. In addition to this, the 1.5-litre TSI EVO unit offers Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) and idle Start and Stop technology.


The Volkswagen Taigun gets 40 (Forty) safety features like 6 (Six) airbags, reverse camera, ISOFIX, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-collision brakes, adjustable headrest, three-point seat belts and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Speaking of the warranty, the Taigun gets 4EVER Care package which offers standard 4 (Four) years/ 1 lakh kms warranty extendable up to 7 (Seven) years, 4 (Four) year roadside assistance which can be extended up to 10 years, and 3 (Three) free services. Furthermore, the buyers can also avail the service value package at a stating price of INR 21,999.
