The German car manufacturer, Volkswagen has officially revealed the launch date of the Taigun. The automaker is all set to introduce the mid-size SUV on September 23, 2021 in the Indian market. The production and bookings has already commenced ahead of its official launch.
The mid-size SUV will be offered in 5 (Five) shades – Candy White, Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel Grey. As for the exteriors, the Taigun gets a minimal design yet with style. The exteriors of the SUV features LED headlights with integrated DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, raised bonnet. LED taillights, an electric sunroof and silver roof rails.
On the inside, the Taigun gets a dual-tone theme, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster, three-spoke steering wheel, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, wireless charging, front ventilated seats, leather upholstery, 6-speaker sound system, ambient lighting and much more. On the safety front, the SUV gets 6 (Six) airbags, type pressure deflation warning, multi-collision brakes, hill hold control and ISOFIX child seat mounting.
Under the hood, the Taigun offers 2 (Two) engine options: a 1.0-litre petrol unit paired with a 6-speed automatic (AT) gearbox producing 115bhp and 175Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine mated with a 7-speed DSG transmission generating 148bhp against a peak torque of 250Nm.
Once launched, the Volkswagen Taigun will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushaq.
