Delhi govt inaugurates forum for successful implementation of EV policy

The Delhi government launched a new platform to involve with stakeholders for the successful implementation of its recently launched electric vehicle policy. As per an official statement, the government informed its all-electric vehicles (EV) policy in August this year, targeting to have an electric vehicle market share of 25% of all fresh automobile sales in the National Capital by 2024.

The main objective behind the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy, 2020 is to quicken the pace of large-scale EV acceptance in vehicle segments, mainly in two-wheeler, public/shared transport vehicles and freight carriers.

The Dialogue and Development Commission (DDC) is all set to host the Delhi EV Forum in collaboration with independent think tank RMI India.

Vice-chairperson of Dialogue and Development Commission (DDC), Delhi government, Jasmine Shah said that the participation of all stakeholders, including the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), fleet operator, charging station energy operator and others, is needed to realize the vision of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to make Delhi the ‘EV capital of India’.

The first gathering of the forum will be held on 18 December to talk about the challenges of deployment of electric vehicles and deployment of infrastructure.
