Tata-owned British auto major, Jaguar launched the Jaguar F-Pace SVR at the 2018 New York Auto Show. News has been doing rounds that the British marque would be launching the SUV in the Indian market soon after it was recently listed on the Indian website of the brand. The sources also mention that select dealers are also accepting bookings for the new model with deliveries scheduled for 2020. However, there is no official confirmation by the carmaker on the date of the launch of F-Pace SVR.
As per the media reports, it is being said that the F-Pace SVR has been engineered by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division and comes with a 44 percent hike in power output over the standard model.
As for the powertrain, it is being reported that the performance SUV will be available with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that develops 542 bhp between 6000-6500 rpm and a torque of 680 Nm of that is available between 2500-5500 rpm. The motor is paired with 8-speed automatic transmission with a SportShift Selector.
The SUV comes with an upgraded chassis. This is done in order to handle all that additional power. Jaguar F-Pace SVR will be available with progressive front and rear spring that are 30 percent and 10 percent stiffer respectively. The SUV also incorporates an anti-roll bar that reduces body roll by five percent. The car also gets larger brakes with 395 mm front and rear discs for improved stopping power. Other features include quad exhaust tips, Active Exhaust System and a Variable Valve Active Exhaust System that helps create just the right exhaust note.
As for the exterior, the major highlights include larger air intakes upfront along with vents on the side fenders. The SUV is also offered with an SVR body kit, Lozenge quilted leather upholstery with SVR embossing, SVR steering wheel, and aluminum paddle shifters. The SUV rides 21-inch forged alloy wheels that are 25 mm wider at the rear for better handling.
Presently, Jaguar F-Pace is available with only the petrol engine in India. The F-Pace is offered currently at ₹ 63 lakh. With high power and enhanced performance, F-Pace SVR is expected to be priced well over ₹ 1 crore.
