Skoda Kushaq launch in India delayed

Skoda India revealed the production-spec of the new developed SUV Skoda Kushaq in March 2021 and the launch was expected for May-June this year. Due to the second wave outburst of COVID-19 and lockdown being imposed in various states of the country the launch now has been delayed and will reach the showrooms in the July 2021.

The Skoda Kushaq is based on the Vision IN Concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and has a wide grille by Skoda along with LED DRLs on the front and the front bumper is with a faux air intake under the fog lamps. At the rear side, the Kushaq gets a roof-mounted spoiler, wraparound taillights and a chrome strip that adds to the width.

The all-new Skoda Kushaq features a sleek look and get features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, ventilated front seats, climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, ambient lighting and many more. On the safety front, the Skoda Kushaq offers ESC as standard along with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, front parking sensors, disc brakes on the front and drum brakes at the rear, rear parking camera and a multi-collision braking system.

The SUV Skoda Kushaq will offer 2 (Two) engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual (MT) transmission or a 6-speed torque converter auto producing 115bhp and 175Nm and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine mated either with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT generating 150bhp against 250Nm of torque.

When the new Skoda Kushaq will be launched in India, it will be in close competition with the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier and the Kia Seltos.
