The sketch image of the 7th generation Volkswagen Polo GTI has been revealed ahead of its unveiling in the month of June 2021. The previous generation Polo was recently updated and now the new Polo GTI will get an upgrade and a sharper design along with some additions. Volkswagen said that the new Polo GTI will be revealed by the end of June, 2021 and will provide “exceptional driving dynamics in combination with exceptional everyday usability” and will represent “pure dynamism and expressive design.”
The new Polo GTI will get Volkswagen’s multiple driver assistance systems, including the Travel Assist and Level 2 semi-autonomous driving features. It is also expected that the new Polo GTI will get these features as standard. On the inside, the new Polo GTI will get features such as a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new steering wheel, touch-based AC controls, ambient lighting and many more . It could also get the ‘GTI’ badging on the steering wheel and headrests, red stitching and accents, and different seat upholstery in order to set itself apart and to look different from the standard hatchback.
The new Polo GTI could continue to get its power from a 2.0-litre turbo-charged petrol TSI engine mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch (DSG) automatic gearbox producing 203PS against 320Nm of torque.
As of now there is no confirmation of the new Volkswagen Polo GTI coming to India anytime soon. However, Volkswagen India did sell the 5th generation Polo GTI in the Indian car market from the year 2016 to 2020.
