Volvo C40 Recharge revealed in India

The luxury car maker, Volvo has revealed its second electric model, the Volvo C40 Recharge in the country after the Volvo XC40 Recharge.

Designed in the coupe version similar to the XC40 Recharge, the new C40 Recharge also gets body-coloured closed-off front look, Thor-hammer-inspired LED headlights and vertical taillights of the XC40 Recharge. Along with the coupe body style, the model gets a distinct look with the 19-inch 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Volvo C40 Recharge will be available in 6 (Six) different colour options – SAGA GREEN | CRYSTAL WHITE | FUSION RED | FJORD BLUE | CLOUD BLUE | ONYX BLACK.

Inside the cabin, the C40 Recharge gets a black theme dashboard which offers a 9-inch vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment system which is co-developed with Google featuring built-in services like Google Play Store, Google Maps and Google Assistant. In addition to this, the display available for the driver is fully digital and the aircon vents can be seen in portrait style.

The new Volvo C40 Recharge will derive its power from a 78kWh battery pack offered in a single AWD trim and the dual-electric motor will generate 405bhp against a peak torque of 660Nm. The company claims a driving range of 530kms in a single charge and the battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 27 minutes using a 150kW DC fast charger.

The company will launch the C40 Recharge in August 2023 followed by deliveries starting from September 2023. Once launched, the electric SUV is to rival the likes of the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq5.
