Mercedes-Maybach GLS launched at INR 2.43 crore

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC has finally made its debut in India and is launched at a price of INR 2.43 crore (Ex-showroom) and is the first SUV in Maybach segment available for the Indian market.

In comparison to the standard GLS 450 being sold in the Indian car market, the length of the Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC has been cut short by 2mm and is 31mm wider and 15mm taller along with providing 93mm of extra space in the second row. The second row has 2 (Two) individual seats which can be reclined up to 43.5 degrees just like a lounge seat along with electrically adjustable foot support. In addition to this, the second row seats also gets heating, ventilation and massage functions in order to provide more comfort to its occupants. Also, in case if you need more space then the front co-passenger seat can be moved forward which will free up more legroom.

Inside the cabin, the Maybach GLS is loaded with luxury features like 2 (Two) 12.3-inch connected screens, a 7-inch MBUX tablet in the rear armrest to control various functions, wireless charging, rear electric sun blinds, a panoramic sunroof, 64 ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, optional 11.6-inch rear entertainment screens, a 13-speaker Burmester sound system and more.

Speaking of the exteriors, the Maybach GLS features a chrome-slatted front grille with ‘Maybach’ insignia in the center, LED headlamps and LED taillights, auto-folding footboard and 23-inch alloy wheels. Adding up, the Maybach GLS 600 will be offer 15 different types of body paint, including 5 (Five) dual-tone options for its buyers.

In terms of engine and transmission, the Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC will get a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo petrol engine with a a 48V mild-hybrid tech and is paired with a 9-speed automatic (AT) gearbox and gets an all-wheel-drive option producing 557bhp against a peak torque of 730Nm. The 0-100kmph can be achieved in just 4.9 seconds.

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC is priced at a premium of INR 1.39 crore over the standard GLS 450. As for the Indian car market, the Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC will rival the likes of the Range Rover, Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
