As the new month starts, a few cars are awaited to be launched ahead of this month which were to make a debut last month but were postponed due to the second wave of the pandemic spread across the country and lockdown being imposed in various parts of the country. Let’s have a look at the list of the new car launches in the Indian car market.
The Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai, made its entry into the 7-seater segment of the Indian car market via the launch of Hyundai Alcazar which will be in the same segment as that of MG Hector, Tata Safari and the upcoming Mahindra XUV 700. The Hyundai Alcazar will get 2 (Two) engine options a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine both of them paired either to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed CVT automatic (AT) gearbox. The petrol engine will produce 150bhp against a torque of 192Nm whereas the diesel engine will generate a power of 113bhp and a torque of 250Nm.
The new Alcazar will get 2 (Two) seating options; 6-seater and 7-seater and features like LED headlamps and taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
ISUZU D-MAX V-CROSS
Isuzu Motors India is all set to launch the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross with BS VI complaint pretty soon. The new D-Max V-Cross gets a 1.9-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic (AT) gearbox which will generate the power of 161hp against 360Nm of torque. The new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will be available in 2 (Two) variants; D-Max V-Cross Z 2WD AT and D-Max V-Cross Z Prestige 4WD AT and in 7 (Seven) different colour options.
The new GLA was revealed by Mercedes-Benz at the Auto Expo 2020 and the bookings for the same has already started. The new GLA gets multi-beam LED headlights and LED taillights on the exteriors and a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, front seats with memory function and a multi-function steering wheel in the interiors along with many other features. The new Mercedes-Benz GLA will be available in 3 (three) variants – GLA 200, GLA 200d and GLA 35 AMG. The GLA 200 will get a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine, GLA 200d will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine both mated to either a 7-speed or an 8-speed automatic (AT) gearbox whereas the GLA 35 AMG will be an AMG version offering a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed automatic (AT) transmission.
The launch of the new Skoda Octavia was due for the month of April 2021 which got delayed due to the current situation of COVID-19 spread across the country. The new Octavia will get new features like LED headlamps, fog lights and taillights along with 17-inch alloy wheels. Speaking of the interiors, the new-gen Skoda Octavia gets a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument console, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 3-zone climate control and a black and beige theme. The new Octavia will get a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic (AT) transmission and will generate a power of 187bhp against a torque of 320Nm.
